St. Patrick's Day

Hi all, I'm waaaay behind on my blog posts due to finals week and work but I'm on spring break now (woohoo!) so I'll be able to post more.  Today's post is on my St. Patrick's Day mani, hope you enjoy!

I used 2 polishes for this mani, the base is Sinful Colors Irish Green and the top is Blarney Stone by Nailnation 3000.  At first I wasn't sure how much I would like Irish Green, in the bottle it looks REALLY neon.  I used 3 coats to try and get it opaque but there were still some sheer spots.  It may just be personal preference but I am not a sheer kind of girl =)  I topped it with 2 coats of Blarney Stone and was amazed at the transformation.  The green went from neon to almost emerald, I loved it!  The wear on this mani was almost 5 days before I saw any signs of chipping, and as much time as my hands spend in water I think that's pretty amazing.  Check out these pics and let me know what you think!

Spring Flowers

Hi everyone, so sorry for taking so long to post again.  Finals are next week so I've been cramming to get all my homework done and study.  I hope you are all enjoying the nice weather, I took my son to the park yesterday to run around and it was so nice to be out in the fresh air =)

Today I have something fun and a little nerve-wracking for me...........stamping!!  Stamping is what first got me interested in nail art but it is still difficult for me.  I'm a bit of a perfectionist yet I never seem to be able to get the stamps to look the same.  I used Sinful Colors Candy coated (from their Sugar Rush Collection) as the base color and stamped with Sinful Colors Enchanted.  I love how the combo turned out!  Candy Coated is a pastel purple that went on super easy, I only used 2 coats and had complete opaqueness.  Enchanted stamped really well, there weren't many spots that were thin.  I used Nail Art Plates stamp m60 because I thought it was really cute and appropriate for Spring!  I really hope you like how this turned out, I will be working to perfect my technique so be on the look out for more stamping posts =)

I used both with flash and without flash for the nail pictures so you can see the difference =)

Come Fly With Me, Let's Fly, Let's Fly Away

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good weekend!  Sorry it's taken me a little bit to get another post out but I'm excited about what I have to show you today.  This is a nail polish I received from a friend and I was really excited to wear it.  Having a 1 year old at home and working nights makes it hard to find time to paint my nails so I was actually "nekkid" for a few days =( I waited until the kiddo went down for a nap yesterday and went to work.

I'll Fly Away by Daily Lacquer

This is "I'll Fly Away" by Daily Lacquer!  It's a blue, shimmery base with pink glitter as well as pink hearts and flowers.  When I put on the first coat it was very sheer but I had tons of glitter in the first application.  I ended up adding 2 more coats to get a more opaque look.  I really liked the polish in the bottle but, for me, it was hard to get enough of the hearts and flowers onto my nail.  I am a little neurotic about my nail polish so I'm having to learn to adjust to the sporadic placement of the larger glitter, but that's just a personal pet peeve.

I am going to play around with this polish a little bit more, I think by adding 3 coats it was harder to get the large glitters to lay right,  The polish went on smoothly and has worn well so far =)  My hands are in water constantly during my shift so having polish that doesn't chip is a must for me.  I hope you all will check out Daily Lacquer on Etsy and see what she has to offer, I know I will be getting more from her soon.  Stay tuned for my next post, there's something amazing coming!

See you soon,
Kim

Let's Get This Party Started!

Hi! Welcome to Deliciously Sinful Designs, I am so glad you're here!  This is my very first blog post and I cannot tell you how excited I am.  It has been a crazy past couple of days but things are finally starting to take shape, so let's get started shall we?  Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I am a 30 year old married woman and mommy to an amazing little boy named AJ, he is the light of my life.  I am also a full time student; getting my degree in Early Childhood Education while working as Direct Support Professional caring for adults with mental and physical disabilities. I have a very busy life but I love it.

I have always loved nail polish, the multitude of colors and designs fascinate me.  Majority of my young life I was plagued with the unfortunate habit of nail biting, once I was finally able to stop I still wasn't able to have beautiful nails due to the type of work I was doing, my hands took a beating!  It wasn't until 2011, when I was pregnant with AJ, that I started to see how nice my nails could be.  It's amazing the things that happen to your body when you have little control over it =) My nails started to grow; for the first time in my life I had nice nails!  And there began my obsession with all things polish, though it would be another year before it really took off.

A very dear friend of mine started a nail polish blog and invited me to follow her, you can find her here; I saw all of the absolutely amazing nail designs she was doing and wanted to be a part of it.  So, I bought my first stamping plates and Konad stamper and began to experiment.  I am still figuring out the best way to stamp but the process has been fun.  I began to research videos on YouTube and Facebook and my world exploded.  I had no idea that there were so many things you could do with nail polish!  It's been a few months now and I have decided to begin the process of launching a nail polish and jewelry design business, this is where the blog comes in.  I will be showcasing all my designs and polishes (once I start making them) here first, for all of you to see.  I will also be reviewing polishes and jewelry, looking for unique jewelry designs and fun, new polishes.

I am excited to begin this new journey and even more excited to start it with you, I hope you'll join me on my new adventure!

See you soon,
Kim
